BIB 430 Teaching Bible to Adults
This course seeks to integrate the learning of Bible with the learning of how to teach Bible to adult learners in diverse settings. We consider multiple approaches to interpreting and teaching biblical texts in light of the developmental needs, motivations, expectations, and learning styles of adults who engage in Jewish study. The course enables students to: (1) explore the theories and practices of teaching adult learners; (2) practice various methods of biblical analysis; and (3) model, analyze, and design authentic learning experiences for adults that are relevant to the work of rabbis, cantors, and educators in diverse settings.
