Grading and Academic Records
Faculty are responsible for entering and managing student grades in SIS. The following tools and procedures will guide you through midterm grading, final grading, and incomplete coursework.
Grade Roster
- Access the Grade Roster under your course tools.
- Enter grades for each student according to the grading system designated for the course.
- Always click Submit Grades at the bottom of the screen to finalize.
- Once submitted, grades cannot be changed in SIS. To make a change, submit a Change of Grade Form.
Grading Systems
- Letter Grades: A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, F
- Pass/Fail: P (Pass), LP (Low Pass), F (Fail)
- By default, the grading system is Pass/Fail unless otherwise designated.
- Some courses are set to letter grade only, Pass/Fail only, or either. This designation overrides student preference.
Faculty across campuses must use consistent grading criteria for shared courses.
Midterm Grades
- Set the correct term from the Home screen.
- Click Grading Roster.
- Select I = Interim grade or M = Midterm grade.
- Enter grades for all students.
- Click Submit Grades to save.
- Note: Interim and midterm grades do not appear on transcripts.
Incompletes
- Students must complete a Request for Incomplete Form.
- Instructor may set earlier deadlines but must communicate clearly.
Final Submission Deadlines

Fall: Resolved/extended by last day of Spring classes.

Spring: Resolved/extended by first day of Fall classes.

Summer: Resolved/extended by last day of Fall classes.

Final-year students: Must be resolved by March 31.
To resolve, submit a Change of Grade Form.
