WRL 516 Jewish Names and Naming

This class is an introduction to Jewish names and naming, including baby names, family names, name changing, name popularity, and Jewish organization/program names. We will analyze these using basic tools of onomastics (the study of names), linguistics (the study of language), and social science. In addition, the course will include some practical rabbinics.
