JTI 6004 Jewish Textual Interpretations: Talmud and Codes
The Jewish Textual Interpretation sequence is designed to help students to become more skilled readers and interpreters of biblical and rabbinic literature in Hebrew and Aramaic; to introduce students to several genres and forms of this literature and their historical context; to challenge students to consider a range of philosophical and theological questions posed in this literature; and to consider the claims it makes upon them as Jews and as rabbis. In Year 2 of the program, JTI focuses on selected passages from the Torah and their interpretation.
